I believe this Southern Pacific Tank Car is for display only. The wheels turn but they do not appear to be fixed so that they won't run around curves. Nice display item for the railroad collector or someone that wants to rework one. Possibly a Readers Digest freebie for subscribing.

Yes it is a collectible-never taken out until I photographed it. Thank For your reply. I don't remember when I got it- it has been a few years- I don't think I got it from a subscription though- as I only subscribed to Life, Smithsonian, National Geographic, Photography and The New Yorker.
