I personally have never used this, this is brand new, but I have a friend that uses one and she says she can tell a difference but you have to use it in steps, its not just a one day miracle..LOL Here are the directions via the instruction manual : For small areas such as eyebrows, bikini line, lip, etc. You cleanse the area thoroughly, cut the provided q-tip in half and insert into the pen until it rests against the gold/silver ring with stem fully inserted. Dip q-tip into the conductive gel, making sure the gel also covers the gold/silver ring. Make sure the q-tip is inserted securely ( if inserted right the q-tip should not fall out). Slide the epen switch to the "Probe" position. (Check the red light to confirm the battery is working) Then you apply the gel coated q-tip to the treatment area, press the square activator button on the pen. (If it is conducting a good flow of current the light should be green, if not it will remain red and you will need to add more conductive gel). The pen will buzz the alarm to let u know that the 20 second treatment is over and resets itself for the next treatment. You can also do large areas of hair, but the manual will walk you step by step how to do those involving the pads. Hope this helps.
