What shipping method are you using? $3 is very inexpensive!

I will ship through the USPS. It is packaged in a regular brown box. I will ask them what the least expensive way to ship is. Sometimes it turns out to be Priority Mail at only a few cents more so if that is the case, I will ship it priority which is 2-3 day arrival time. I won't know for sure until I take it to the post office. I hope I answered your question :0)
