Now what would be cool is to take a piece of your dad's sandpaper and smooth all the sharp edges and make it a "worry stone". A worry stone is a smooth stone you keep in your pocket and when you are stressing or worrying, you run the stone to help relax you.

It is not a superstious, good luck thing. Its just theraputic. The action of rubbing the stone, distracts you for the moment, the action of rubbing it between your fingertips or in your hand, calms ya down.

NOW, this would be a really cool item for you to do dear. Just get some sandpaper, sand down the corners and call them worry stones. Try to make an oval shape, or an oblong shape or a circle.

THIS is a special one, you got it yourself, go polish it, sand off the sharp edges, and I will bid on it. :)
