Also called Rag Rugs... you can utilize scraps of coordinating material to make beautiful and useful 'artwork' for your home. This is a very old craft, and truly one of the original "green" crafts!

There are 14 pages of text and photos of how to do the old fashioned craft of Rug Braiding.

I've posted a sample but there are many shapes you can make - ovals, hearts, even baskets!

Questions I've been asked in previous auctions include:
1. Do I need a sewing machine? Yes... to sew the strips together for the braid portions, but NOT for the actual braiding into the rug
2. What kind of materials can I use?
I suggest cottons... not too thick. Avoid Jersey and T-shirt types of material. I have seen some great creations with nylon types but I found the end result a bit slippery for rug use.
3. Will you help me if I get stuck? YES!! Happy to do so
