These spongies are made from acrylic yarn and can be used the same as any store purchased sponge. They are soft, absorbant and easily washed and dried in the washing machine. They can also be popped in the microwave for a minute or two to kill germs. They measure 3 1/2 by 6 inches, and are close to the size of a sponge you buy in the store.They CANNOT be used as a hot pad as the heat from a pan will melt the spongie. Otherwise they can be used in washing pots and pans, wiping counters or general clean up.
