This LINKSYS Wireless-G Broadband Router w/Speed Booster is in new condition, and works perfectly! The Speed Booster is wonderful! We were set up with it by a very well-known IT professional in our area, and were very happy with it for quite some time. Our area has switched over to FiberOptics, however, so we don't need it anymore. I'm sure this LINKSYS will make someone's life so much easier! Happy Bidding!
I had a question about whether or not I had the software to go with this item, and I cannot locate it. However, an IT expert has told me this: "the CD is not necessary.

open your browser and type in 192.168.1.1 this should get you to the login page.

the default password is either admin or password.

choose the wireless tab and enable the security. I prefer WPA2 mode over WEP.

Hey there, squeakycat- I checked and I cannot find the software as of yet, but I'm going to keep looking. I did ask an expert what one could do if I couldn't find the software & here's what he said: "WPA2 is part of the firmware on the router and the Network Utiility that comes with the wireless adapter. Just login to your router through http://192.168.1.1 (password: admin) and enable it." Like I said, I'll keep looking. GIN for this item would be 5000, plus shipping. Thanks for your questions! :)

I am not asking what it needs. what does it do? Do i need to pay monthly to an internet provider, or it just plug in and satellite takes over.

No, evejsph- you do not need to pay a monthly fee. You just need a wifi ready computer & an internet provider.
