Description

The listing, Peppermint Seeds (50+) has ended.

Bid for 50+ peppermint seeds! This is an amazing herb to grow! It is bizarre to pop a fresh leaf off the plant in your mouth and get a rush of mint! Growing this in a container is HIGHLY recommended because once it starts growing, it's hard to contain! Mints may not grow true from seeds, so grow several plants and choose your favorite flavor (easy enough to do). The picture shows the process of growing several, then singling it down to your favorite! The packet of seeds is the exact packet the winner will receive!

Weeks to germination: ~4-6
Plant Height: ~1-2 ft.
Plant Width: ~1-2 ft.

*I will ship a care sheet along with the seeds! This is the same care sheet I use to grow my own plants!

**If you have any more questions about these seeds or how to grow them, please feel free to ask!

Hi, I've never heard about the thing you said about choosing your favorite flavor of mint. I've got a large wooden window box container that I wanted to grow mint in, so would I be able to put all the seeds in and still have it turn out alright? I mean, if there was some weird tasting bunches, I could just pull those out right? Or would I really need more than 1 container? Also, how likely is it that the the mint would not taste right? I've always heard it's easy and foolproof to grow.....thank you! :)

If I were you, if your container is small (6" or less), I'd start several in small peat pots (maybe 5 seeds per pot and maybe 5 pots). Once the guys sprout and get a few real sets of leaves on them, narrow each peat pot down to the best tasting. Then once you see the roots pop out of the bottom of the peat pots, transplant the best tasting one at that point into the final pot! Peppermint seeds can range from milder spearmint to some very intense ones (it's really just random), so just select the best one! With 50 or so seeds, I'm pretty sure you'll get a good tasting one (I'm not in control of nature, so I can't promise, but this method is recognized). The mint will grow slowly at first, but give it time and it'll do nicely! Hopefully that answers your questions, but if not, feel free to ask more!

That is good to know. Thank you! I like it all, so if I win it will all go in the flower bed.

Mint spreads by throwing new roots out underground and can be very hard to contain in a bed. My recomendation would be to get a cheap plastic container and plant the whole thing in the ground!
