The listing, Romantic Knitwear by Maxine Sanford - 14 Sensuous Handknitting Patterns has ended.
This listing is for a pattern book (not the finished items!) which are a mohair knitter's delight. It is from the early 1980s, when wonderful fuzzy fashions were all the rage, and it is just as timeless now as it was back then. Sure, some of the pattern photos look very 'retro,' but they can be taken into today's top fashions with a few different accessories -- and hairstyles!!
The patterns are all easy to knit. They work quickly on large needles, and the simple stitches make wonderfully complicated looking lacy designs. I've knit many patterns in this book, a couple of them twice, Guinevere in particular. The ONLY reason I am parting with this is I have more than one copy of it, and I want to share the joy that it has given to me with someone else.
Paperback book, black and white photographs and line drawings. Pages are clean, no markings or tears, spine is tight and the cover is unmarked. It's in great shape for as old as it is and just shows the usual handling and shelf wear. 62 pages, 14 patterns, LOADS of inspiration and enjoyment!
The blurb on the back of the book says, "Inspired by the lack of 'couture' knitted garments, Maxine Sanford has over the last five years developed a distinctive line of ageless, elegant styles prompted by such themes as the Arthurian legend and the pre-Raphaelites. Her first collection of long romantic gowns and cloaks was immediately bought by Harrods...."
Shipping is free on this one, because it's not a very big book. Just promise me you will treasure it like I have, okay?
Be blessed!
