I am unique and here are my reasons:
- I have craft ADD. I love doing all things crafty, but can never stick with one thing (painting, stitching, cooking, etc) long enough to make it an actual "hobby"
-My daughter's name is October, even though she was born in November
-I am having a costume party/wedding on Oct. 31st of this year
-My natural hair color is dirty blonde, even though it hasn't been that way since I was 14 years old
-Every tattoo on my back is a memorial to someone who has passed away that was an inspiration to me.

There is nothing really unique about me. Just a big fat blob. I wish I were covered in tattoos but can't afford it. Only have 6. I want more. Used to have 19 piercings but took some out. Now only have (that I keep something in them) 9. I have very very curly hair that pretty much everyone wants except for me. I hate it. What makes me unique??? I know... I see the good in everyone and thing. I think I should have been born in the 50's and a teen in the 60's. My husben calls my his "Flower Child". I have done many tattoo drawings to pay for my rent, when I was in my 20's (My roommate did tattoos. We made a grate team.) Every tattoo I have he gave me and i never paid for. Back in ancient Europe, China, India and at several points in history and in certain many cultures being FAT or obese was a sign of wealth and fertility, a sign that you were healthy and to be skinny as many models are today was considered to be a symbol of unhealthiness and starvation, poverty and never romantically desirable. Just look at the masters of art and how many small ladies do you see in the paintings??? I also know of slender people who are miserable with the opposite issue, they cannot gain weight for anything. Finding a way to be happy and at your best is the goal, and if your unhappy with what you look like then do your best to change it but don't get discouraged, Mother Nature has the final say.

Hi there! I love this idea you had for this auction! I am unique in many ways. I am what my elders call an old soul. I have much more wisdom than a person my age usually has. I have an appreciation for all things antique and vintage. I love cemeteries and bats. I have one bat tattoo and three piercings. I have scars all over my body from past years of self mutilation issues. Started at age 12 and can say I ended at age 23. I'm 24 now. I am not ashamed of the scars as each one tells a story. I have a goal to start a support group for teenagers who use self mutilation as a coping mechanism as I did for so many years. It's hard to overcome but I am living proof it can be done. What makes me unique is my ability to survive some of the most difficult circumstances and still come out of it with minimal scarring. I'll spare you some of the details of being raised by a sociopathic parent who stole 2 out of my 4 children, while the other buried himself in a bottle of vodka. I think it has made me very resorceful and creative, as I channel all of my experiences good or bad into my artwork. It also makes me a great mother, because I will never take my responsibilities as a parent lightly and will encourage the individuality without judgement of everyone I meet. I'm also obsessed with anything related to The Day of the Dead and I love tattoos.

It sounds like you, yourself are quite a hero as well, I know all to much myself what it is like to survive child abuse, rape, drug addiction, homelessness and isn't it interesting that so many people who are victims of things like abuse, brutality and disease are looked down upon? When we have to find the courage and inner strength to find a higher power and to rise above our circumstances...we have to find the power in forgiveness, which is hardest of all and then we have to accept and forgive ourselves. Such a twisted hard road of faith and I am thankful for having gone through each of those things as well, myself because all of them have made me who I am today and able to help others.

I once had a counselor tell me that I have survived what many 100 year olds have been through. You have a lot to give to others...and sometimes accepting help is also a way to put yourself in the position to be able to keep on giving.
