This paper mache candy container egg is beautifully detailed with the same picture on both sides of a rooster and a hen overlooking their chicks feeding. The colors are very vivid. It opens so you can put candy or small gift inside. Egg measures approximately 4 1/2 " long by 3 1/4 " wide. There is floral print on the inside in which the words, "Made German Democratic Republic" are printed throughout.
In perfect condition, near brand new. Not sure of it's age. Have done some research on the internet and found the following:

Items with a German Republic stamp can be dated between 1918 and 1933. East Germany, German Democratic Republic, West Germany and Federal Republic of Germany marks all date after World War II.
