This auction is for a Commemorative Coin minted in the Marshall Islands September 29, 1988 as a tribute to The Space Shuttle Discovery and the US Space Program. This $5 coin is in mint condition, still sealed in its protective wrap and enclosed in a sleeve that has pictures and details of the Space Shuttle and the astronauts.
The Space Shuttle Discovery was operational from its maiden flight on August 30, 1984 until its final landing on March 9, 2011. The orbiter was officially retired April 12, 2012.
