this looks to be smaller than a normal rosary, any papers or instructions with it?

I can refer you to a couple of good books and wedsites and I can send a PDF to you. An Anglican rosary uses "weeks" - four sets of seven -- which is different than a traditional Catholic rosary, but the process and kinds of prayers are similar.
