This auction is for 1 TAG READER and USB cable.

This TAG READER has 32 bit memory.

It is used good condition, there is some wear on the battery screw.

My children have out-grown these so I am passing them on.

I have another TAG READER for auction, that one is 16 bit memory.

Sorry, I have to ask. How does this work? Does this need to be plugged into the computer as they read? or is the Tag Reader charged by the computer and can be used with Tag Books away from the computer?

You need the books and a PC. You download the electronic book from the Leap Frog site onto the TAG reader and then the kids can read the books on their own. It can help them with words they don't know and it can play sound effects for them. But no, they do not have to be plugged into the PC and the TAG reader runs on 2 batteries.
