This is an interesting vintage tie pin or could be used as a lapel pin. I do not know what the design signifies but it appears to be two people holding a sphere in front of a giant "S". It definitely has unique character if that's is what you are in to.
It is missing the little bar that slips though your shirt button hole to hold your tie against you. If I were to keep it, I would just remove the little chain and use it like that.

Please note the size compared to a penny.
