No, silly!! The fibers did not come from a cria(baby alpaca). It's the quaility fiber from the alpaca. Love your pic!! I'm a animal(especially DOG) lover. Have a great day!!

A comfort shawl is a smaller sized rectangular shawl with less emphasis on the decorative patterns in the shawl, and more emphasis on providing some amount of warmth. using a thicker yarn, you can drape the shawl over the sides of a wheel chair, or fend off the chill in cold hospital rooms. Two of my friends have very close relatives that were ill, i made these types of shawls for my friends to give to their relatives, they really appreciated it.

It depends on the pattern you use. The pattern i have calls for a simple v-stitch pattern, and trim/fringe. I used around 300-350 yards for the body of the shawl, and then did a different color yarn as the fringe.
