Javy Lopez was never called Davey. He was Javy or Javier. Davey Lopes was a popular player at one point, is it possible you are confusing the two?

OK,...this is a Topps Gold Rookie card Javy Lopez.Sorry for thqe confusion ,..now bid in IT.lol Javy was a great catcher, too bad the position is so tough on the human body.You just don't get a lot of years like some other positions.I know this is not true for everyone who ever played the game, but on average a tough position physically.

3 time All Star, 1 Silver Slugger, 260 HR, and most notably a .287 career average. Definitely above average. he got a couple of votes last year for the Hall of Fame, and he earned them. I am a sportswriter and if I am lucky, one day I'll get a vote. Javy would have been a borderliner in my book, on a weaker ballot, he's worth a vote.
