No batteries required! It is completely solar powered. Just place it in direct sunlight. The Sunflower on the stem moves side to side while the leaves move up and down. These are great fun to look at, but it is NOT A TOY. It is FOR DECORATIVE PURPOSE ONLY. You can place it in your house window or breakfast table to catch the morning sun. You can also place it on your car's dashboard or rear window. These are just a few suggestions.
