Will this work in an Acer aspire 3000?

Unfortunately, I do not believe it will. As far as I can tell, the Acer Aspire 3000 takes PC2700 RAM (DDR1, 333MHz), and this is PC2-4200 RAM (DDR2, 533MHz.) Different module levels (DDR1, DDR2, DDR3) have their own physical notching scheme, which makes cross-compatibility impossible.

these will work on a dell optiplex 170l and gx280 and in between the pc2 5300 is an upgrade but kinda of unstable depending on wether you mix with old and new

I do not think they will. The Dell OptiPlex is a desktop computer, and these are strictly for a laptop.

Well, darn! As far as I can tell, the Dell 5150 also takes PC2700 RAM (DDR1, 333MHz), meaning this would not work in it....

I called my sister and asked what the laptop brand and model # was that these came out of (because I work with hundreds of computers each year and seriously remember very, very little of it, lol) and all we could muster up was that it WAS a Dell. She traded the laptop in last year and literally possesses next to zero tech savvy. So at least I can confirm that it came out of a Dell laptop, but the model will forever remain unknown...
