* Did you know that there are actually 2 kinds of "Tibetan Silver"?

• Authentic Tibetan silver jewelry is comprised of genuine silver. This means metallurgical test result should indicate 92.5 % silver detail. Generally if the silver content is found to be less than this proportion, it should not be considered as genuine Tibetan 925 silver jewelry. If you notice that surface is peeling away, that is not at all pure.

• Today, what people call 'Tibetan Silver' rarely, if ever, has any significant amount of silver content at all. In fact it's more likely to contain nickel which can be an allergen for many people, not to mention that some may even contain LEAD in the alloy, the material originating from China being the most suspect on that matter. It's actually best described as a backstreet jeweler's better grade of pot-metal. (If you consider LEAD to be 'better' than any other safe type of metal.)

I know it is just for size comparison, but is that a quarter? I don't have a ruler so I was just trying to figure out how big they are. These would be great to make a set of earings & necklace out of.

I think it is actually a dime. I didn't have a quarter handy at the time. They measure approx 17mm diameter. They are good for earrings. I have also sold necklace and earring sets made from them. Here is a link showing them as earrings, with an approx 25mm diameter pendant. Which is about the size of a quarter. Real close, anyway. I hope this helps. =)

Ok, ya I wasn't sure so I wanted to ask. Thank you for the link. They will make nice earings or even to use them as charms on tools. Going to keep my eyes on this one, I'm always needing charms. :)
