Hey there!!! He was my duck for 3 days & is in a wildlife rehab after being left behing by mama duck..he is just starting to fly ..i see him him weekly ..lol..porti volare boyd
I live on the river & he was probably washed out of a nest in high water..my cat was guarding him under a tree while he chirped away hoping for his Mom but she was a no show sadly..he is a male wood duck & was a few days old in 1st pic...we miss him but was grateful i could take him to the rehab..he was pretty noisy..lol...
I could have raised him for release but my landlord would have a fit....my kitty loves baby anything..she protected it from a neighbor cat which is how i figured out what it was..lots of kitty snarling..lol..
Oh i was plotting for sure..lol..i did have 3 fun wonderful days with him.. he thrived with other little quackers at rehab so i guess it was meant to be
Yes but my kitty deserves the credit really..she probably heard it in distress & decided to hang out with it..we have a lot of wild canadian geese & cranes ...the geese in my profile pic nest in the marsh across the road evety year then bring the chicks to the river through my yard & eat here..they leave goose do do all over the trail until they go north for the summer..i never walk through that section of the property until their gone to avoid the slime..lol..
It's the same where I live; there is a pond near my house and there is about 25 geese that stay out there.. And they go all over.. Even on the side walk you have to watch where you walk and clean your shoes when you get home.. We had a few swans. And babies but turtles ate them
Swans are so beautiful. But have never seen them here..We have a large flock of snow geese upstream..Apparently they do not get along with the candian so everyone stays on their own side of the river...lol..
