I've seen it worn as a pendant. You're right that it is probably meant for a band. I can get more detailed pictures and maker a bit later today. (Saturday)

I offer sincere apologies!! The writing I can identify (besides gold plate) is Bulova. It is not working right now. I have never opened it or tried to make it work. I am currently stranded in a new city working on my jeep alone to get home. I apologize for not responding sooner as I had planned!
