The listing, CIVIL WAR DOLLAR (reproduction) has ended.
This reproduction of a CIVIL WAR dollar was a souvenir I got years ago when I visited one of those tourist attractions where they had people dressed and living just as they did during the Civil War period (we got to see them making their own soap and candles, how they farmed and kept animals, spun wool into thread to make clothes, etc.).
I was cleaning out an old drawer of stuff and found this, but don't really need a paper souvenir - I'll always have those memories! I thought someone on Listia might like this for their collection!
This one-dollar bill reproduction measures about 2-1/2" by 5-3/4. It is a light gray color with black ink, and has the following printed on it: Treasury of New York, issued August 4, 1862.ca.
It is a reproduction of dollar #40617 and according to the small print on the back: This note is a legal tender for all debts public and private excluding duties of import and interest on the public debt and is receivable in payment of all loans made to the U.S.
