The coin was issued by Barclays Bank in 1981 It iis still in the original commemorative case, although the case does have some handling wear on it.

The front side of the coin says "H.R.H. The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer 1981" and has silhouettes of both of them. The reverse of the coin has a profile of the Queen, Queen Elizabeth II, and it says "Elizabeth II D.G. Reg F. D."
