Soapwort has stout, 24-inch stems, swollen at the joints and oval, opposite leaves. It bears white 1-inch flowers in clusters, each with 5 united petals that are especially fragrant at night.

Flowers will re-seed for years of enjoyment - or you can gather the seeds and share with others. Plant seeds now for beautiful growth next year.

Personally, I have found that once you gather your seeds, cut the plants back to about 2 to 3" from the ground...you will enjoy a second blooming in the late summer :-)
