Wheatgrass is super healthy for people and animals, easy, and fast growing. We just plant the seeds in plastic trays in the kitchen window. They need at least 1 1/2 inchs of soil. Seeds sprout in 4-6 days days. Perfect for the impatient gardener!Plant seeds very close together in any recycled plastic container, and cover with 1/4 inch of soil. Water when dry. We use clean plastic meat trays, yogurt cups, or deli containers and poke a few holes in the bottom.
I found it works well to plant a second layer a few days later for a second crop. When it starts to come up, you can see the spots you missed.
Cats love to chew on it. Indoor cats need the nutrients.
We also juice it with fruit. Very tasty!
