The listing, Pink Grapefruit Tomato (Heirloom) has ended.

A really unique tomato of medium size. Beautiful yellow fruit are blushing pink inside (hence their name). They have sweet-tart taste that does have citrus overtones. A productive, round tomato that is a winner.

Do you grow this kind in a greenhouse or outdoors?

These, more than others, need to be started indoors. Very sensitive whilst young. That being said, I grow them outdoors myself. BUT they would probably thrive in a greenhouse.

I share a greenhouse, its not a big one, just a bit full of growbags in use. I live in England, UK, would you post here if i won? i can refund shipping fee if your on paypal.
Also do you know the country of origin of this heirloom? last year my "golden sunrise" tomato did much better in the greenhouse than in a couple of pots outside, its a UK heirloom yellow.
Oddly though St. Pierre was opposite being 3 times better outside and thats a French red. France being a warmer country and all.

If you would reimburse me I suppose I would! If nothing else for the experience (I've never shipped overseas). The COO is Belarus, but I bought these from an Amish seed bank originally. Grown these for years myself. It is a sensitive breed, and Detroit is very hot and humid during the growing season making greenhouses unnecessary. I suppose it depends on your specific climate, whether you are in the north or south. Most important are your nighttime temperatures, especially if you are by the water. Sea affect winds in the north can plummet! But the effort is worth it, this is a very RARE strain. Just try to find a place to purchase them!

Yeah you are! Holy smoke, you're right on the water. That's awesome. I lived in Manchester for a couple months, back in '97, So I know the area a little. The climate should be fine for outdoors, but being that close to the sea I would be concerned about high winds as well. If you can't spare room in the hothouse, make sure you keep them well staked. It can help to use a tomato cage, and tying nylon hose around the circumference, stretched wide. The idea is to add support and create a wind barrier.
