The listing, Organic Baby Romaine Seeds (30+) has ended.

These seeds will produce smaller heads than store-bought romaine, but they will be as sweet (if not sweeter). They will make some of the best Caesar salads you'll ever have (personal experience here)! They grow faster than other romaines too! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Do you pick the leaves and leave the roots for them to continue to grow?

You can harvest this in one of two ways:

1) You can cut the heads off when it's completely grown. It'll grow back and you'll get between 2 and 3 harvests per year. Planting these in a row, you can harvest 1 or 2 a week and if you plant enough, the first will have grown back right after you harvest the last. I've had a high germination (>90%) with this seed set, so you should definitely have enough to do this (you do leave the roots).

2) You can harvest the outer leaves as you need them. This will encourage new growth from the center, but the lettuce plants will start to lose the "head" shape that they form. This is the way I prefer to do it, putting the fresh leaves in the fridge overnight first to sweeten it up. This way, the lettuce is always fresh!
