Description

The listing, Server/Desktop RAM has ended.

2x 256MB DDR PC-2100 Registered/Buffered ECC RAM.

These are two DIMMS for your older server or once higher-end desktop. These are registered/buffered ram, so check your motherboard/computer information carefully. (The HP part number is included in the third picture, if you have the misfortune of needing to search through HP documentation.)

AFAIK, you can use ECC ram in a non-ECC system, but you can not use registered/buffered ram in an unregistered/unbuffered system. (Unfortunately, I know that for a fact! 8^)

Hey, I checked the memory information of one of my computer's models, but it says nothing about registered/buffered RAM. Am I in the green or is this a no-go?

Hey, the documentation for the Dell Optiplex GX260 says nothing about registered or buffered RAM, but does say non-ECC. Do I have a green light or is this a no-go?

No-Go.

The Dell documentation in incomplete. (No surprise, that is how I got these...) According to Crucial (http://bit.ly/bsslyZ) the Optiplex GX260 is unbuffered.
