Okay all here is my first mystery auction honestly i have no idea what this is for, it is a tool and it very strange. if you know what it is please comment! the side piece revolves all the way around by the way

this is one half of an old type gate and/or door lock. You are missing the loop part that goes thru the slot at the pointer end. The "T" goes all the way around so you could mount it on either left or right side of door. My great grand dad used these all the time on fence gates and barn doors. It got to be 50 years old
