Description

The listing, Teach Yourself to Rug Braid! has ended.

This is such a great craft! And its environmentally friendly too!

You can make some great pieces not just rugs, using fabric remnants and I've even used yarn scraps too! The hardest part is sewing the 'braids' together into your desired shape.

I have collected some tips, patterns and instructions over the years. I will email the winner all the stuff I've collected which is about 20 pages or so.
Upon close of auction, the winner will provide me a valid email address and I will email all I have to the winner promptly!

is it complicated

honestly... the time consuming part is to sew together the pieces that you will braid. (if you're using scraps... its only end to end sewing of the strands. Truly one of those things that you can lose track of time on when you're doing it. :) I also offer email support to the winners!

Okay... this is a complicated question but I'll do my best:
TIME:
1. This will depend on how 'wide' your braids are. If you're using say fine thin cotton your braids will be smaller width wise and so then you have to go 'around' many more times than if you used something thicker like denim or fleece to make braids.
2. Time depends also on how many scraps or strips you have to sew together before making the braiding strips. if you have long pieces, less sewing.
3. COST - Depends on the amount of scraps you'd be using or if you purchased new cloth. New cloth can be expensive, but you can usually find deals or sales if you watch. Also check for old colourful bedding (sheets) at thrift stores.
Hope this helps!
