yes it is the point, and i wouldn't suggest using listia as a tool to learn how to safely pierce yourself or anyone else. i suggest studying and watching a professional, and having them help you. i am a professional, but i can only help you so much over the web. sorry.

i know 14g is for belly buttons. 18g is for ears. what is 20g used for

on a nose that doesn't want to draw too much attention to it's jewelry, tragus, helix, etc. it all really depends on the person; a larger anatomy can take larger gauge modifications and have it look normal. i do 90% of my nostril piercings with a 20G, and 95% of my tragus piercings with 20G.
