I beleive it says 14 kt G.E. Espo. 14 kt GE , means it has a very thin layer of 14kt gold over it (gold eletroplated) ESPO was a US brand , famous in the 60's and 70's , which means it has some vintage value to it too.
14 kt g.f. is fine with me. how about the size of the ring? i would like to put like an cats eye in the center of it, where the other stone was. nice ring! ty f&w
If anyone really wants take 3 minutes to read this about gold, please read : Gold filled is a layer of gold10kt or better mechanically bonded under heat and pressure on one or more surfaces of supporting base materials (usually brass) then rolled or drawn to give a thickness or gauge. In the jewelry Industry the quanity of gold must be 1/20th (5%) by weight of the total product. (Source) I was a moderator for a gold company in 2004 Wire Jewelry International out of New York City
yes 14kt gf means gold filled =) not solid gold but still nice and won't turn your finger green or anything it is just gold mixed in with like silver and other alloys possibly, I have alot of gold filled jewelry it's not gold plated which wears off and turns you green it is gold filled which is 10x better than plating mine i have had for years and years and has never turned my fingers green and it still looks great today =)
