It takes a simple. It does not come with one. What u would do when u got the phone is call straight talk andtell them u have a old phone u would like to activate and they will send u a free sim card. Then u ch activate it with a new number

Just a heads up. Since there is not a sim card i cannot erase pictures it txts or contacts that may b on the phone. So please please whoever gets this phone erase this stuff.

I have activated this phone several times. And all i have done is call straight talk and tell them i had am old phone i wanted to activate and not one time have they charged me. So maybe they have changed it since then not sure
