This is a soft-back book by Ruby McKim, copyright 1962. There are wonderful patterns in here, all the favorites such as Monkey Wrench, Drunkards' Path, and others. Not only are there detailed patterns, but also the history of the patterns and tips on how to make them work the best are included. I found this to be as interesting as the patterns themselves!

I have had this book nearly well over 30 years, but I have learned through the ages that I cannot sew worth a hoot. It is time to let it go, and let it rest in the hands of someone else who can not only cherish it, but use it, too. It comes from a non-smoking home. I have dogs, but they don't get onto my bookshelves.
