Oh I see, lol, They are one in the same....meaning some call it an airplane plant, and some call it a spider plant.

What is the average diameter of the babies up for auction, and how do you pack and protect them for shipment? thankx!!!
May 30th, 2012 at 11:05:33 AM PDT by
Original
They average 3/4 to 1 inch across the root area. I wait til the day of shipping before cutting. I wrap the root section in a damp paper towel and then wrap in plastic. I put the prepared baby in a small box and then an envelope! They are protected from being bruised and crushed. You can plant them sraight into pot or root them in water for a few weeks. I water mine almost every evening because she is outside and loving it!

I see you have yours outside but do they make good inside plants?

Yes they do. They like a good eat window. They love the mornig sun. You shouldn't have to water as much if it's inside.

I have a big spider plant myself, and I planted 1 of its babies in gardening soil and it took root pretty fast but I have since done the same thing with 7+ more babies and I don't think there taking root and I think I used the same gardening soil and an watering them just as much as the first baby plant that took root,am I doing something wrong?and what can I do to get them to take root if they haven't done so already?and how do I check to see if they have taken root or not?
