I had two of them in my lifetime, the first one lived for 19 years, I have his ashes. The second one is still living the human society took him. Long story, my family were causing me a lot of problems. I'm female, no duck hunting for me. LOL Both were beautiful and both named Charlie.

LOL! I understand about the duck hunting, I wouldn’t either. I have a friend that breeds Golden Retrievers and trains them for duck hunting, that's the only reason I asked. I am sorry to hear about your loss, I could not imagine losing either of my two girls.

It was rough, but I made them promise to find him a good home. It's surprising what families will do when a parent passes away and leaves someone in charge of the estate. You can never imagine how much you take for granted into someone with a little power sticks their noses into your business. I'm not allowed to own another dog for four more years, maybe then I'll get me another golden.
