Hey there!! Actually I am going to need to double check if I have wrong picture in there the listing should be for the first and 3rd picture I believe but I will check that coin out to make sure the pics match up I’ll be sure to have that done shortly but for now I’m going to try and remove that second pic bc I think that shouldn’t be in there! Whoops!! But I actually have a question for you lol for the Second coin pictured do you see 1942? Or 1943? To me it looks like a 3 but I could be totally wrong and you should much more knowledgeable in regards to coins than I am :)

Both remaining pictures are of the steel composite zinc cent which was only issued for one year in 1943 . 1943 Lincoln Wheat Cents look like "silver pennies" but they are actually made out of steel . During World War 2 , the US government needed to allocate as much copper as possible for the war effort and this included copper used for minting Lincoln Cents at the US Mint . Zinc-coated steel was used as the substitute metal composition and therefore the new silver-like coin were known as the wartime steel cent or steel penny . Good question thou , have a wonderful auction and happy bidders . . / M .

Ty so much for teaching me about this!! I did double check and yes the 1942 was a photo that shouldn’t have been in there but could be a bonus to go with this one :) I love the history behind these coins it’s what got me interested not long ago, my fiancé’s uncle is a huge collector and has been able to teach me a lot but definitely not all bc there’s so much!

This is just an enquire in regards to your current offered auction item . Is the second coin pictured ,1942 D cent , a bonus item or only shown as comparison with the emergency issued Steel Composite zinc cent ? . / M .
