UTAH Sales Tax Token 1940’s

The winner of this listing will receive the token shown in the attached photos.

During the 1930’s twelve states issued these sales tax tokens. They were Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah, and Washington. By the end of the 1930s token use was eliminated in most of the issuing states, with sales tax tokens lingering in Missouri until late in the 1940s and Utah until 1951; the very last tokens were issued in 1961. If you collect tokens you probably have some of these, if not, this might interest you.

In case you think my price is high, please understand that the current value of 100 INK on 12/12 is 60 cents; a 50c postage stamp costs 83 INK; and don’t forget that I too had to buy the coin(s)
