Wow I had no idea hon that listia had a place we could go and vote for a tab for shipping to Canada how awesome if that were to go thru a d I totally agree with u on that!!! U don't know how many times ppl have said to me oh it took forever to fill out the papers to send that to u!! Well I had 16 auctions I did one time went to the p.o. And no way did it take me any where near an hour to do ALL 16 of them and that was the whole labels too addressing them and everything. A dear sweet lady I met on here whom I've NEVER met and we consider ourselves as sisters now and I do feel closer to her than my own sisters I might add lol but she sends me things ALL the time NEVER charges me for shipping and they r big boxes too $40 a box she does it thru stamps.com they're lucky to have something like that cuz I've looked all over and I can't find anything like that here in Canada anyway heading over to forum after I finish my smoke outside and my timmies will probably bid on this for sure lol ur the best Debi

I know what you mean. The big thing is getting the knowledge out that it doesnt cost much more (and with larger items, it is often cheaper) than mailing within the USA. MOST sellers are great and WILL ship to Canada...you just have to ask. I am hoping that many more will show Canada in their listings so that we dont have to flip thru so many pages of auctions. I have started blocking sellers who wont ship to Canada. It ticks me off that I ship to the USA for free but they wont ship to me, so I block them so they cant take advantage of my auctions. Again, MOST will ship to Canada and are just unaware that by selecting international shipping gives them the option of choosing where they want to ship to. Cheers!!!

I have to say that Canadians, after researching rates, pay a LOT more than Americans do to ship across the border. I used to think that the extra $2 or so to ship a small item across the border was bad, but after seeing that a small parcel runs around $8.50 to ship from Toronto to ALL of the US (per eBay's calculator--sorry, Canada Post is DOWN right now), I am reconsidering this position.

That said, I live too far south now for Tim Horton's, but I so wish I could bid.

Yes, our postage rates are high. Too high!!! I am glad that you are reconsidering your shipping options. Most of the time, shipping to Canada is only cents more than shipping within the USA. Sometimes, its cheaper...depending on the size of the package. I have fanned you...thanks!!!

I should point out for Canadians that eBay/PayPal offers significant discounts through Canada Post for printing labels with their service--sometimes up to 25% off. They'll even generate customs forms for sending items abroad!

Americans--PayPal does the same thing for us, too!

I will have to look into it. Only problem I can see is that I dont live in town...I am out int he country and dont even get mail delivered to my house (I have to go to a roadside mailbox about 1 mile away)...so either way, I still have to go into town to do my mailing...and if I was to use paypal, I would still have to get a scale, etc...but I am gunna check it out. Every little bit helps...Canada's postage rates are about 1.5 times what the USA is. Thanks for the info!!!
