Description

The listing, Aggiebonnet - Maroon Bluebonnet Seeds has ended.

This is for 50 Maroon Bluebonnet Seeds, Aggiebonnet, or Alamo Fire.
The only difference between the Maroon Bluebonnet and the blue Bluebonnet is color. The Maroon Bluebonnet took over twenty years to develop. The plant was originally found in the wild near San Antonio, Texas. To keep flowers maroon in the future, remove plants that bloom in other colors as soon as possible. It is a great favorite with Aggies, hence the nickname "Aggiebonnet".
These are great to put out in a wildflower box. I prefer to make my own mix of seeds, but I NEVER leave these beauties out!

they are more common around central and southern texas, so the only ones I have seen are the ones I keep in my wildflower boxes. I saw the picture of them on the bag my sister gave me and said, "No way these are really going to look like that!"
Glad to be wrong every once in a while

Are they hard to grow and would they grow in Southeren Michigan? F&W

being a southern plant, I would say that you would have a harder time growing them. here in texas, if it has been an awfully cold winter, we don't see many bluebonnets that year. however, if you were to plant them inside, you would get the same flower we get here!
