There is no pot. The coffee stays warm inside until you use your own cup to serve you. You press your cup against that grey level on the coffeemaker and presto, you have Coffee.

The coffee staying inside until you press a mug to the dispenser. It then pours out. This keeps it warmer. Hope this clarifies things.
