Description

The listing, JVC GR-DVM76U MiniDV Camcorder has ended.

That's right! A FULLY OPERATIONAL MiniDV CAMCORDER!!!

You're bidding on the JVC GR-DVM76U MiniDV camcorder! Everything works! I've listed it on Craigslist, but no one recognizes the DEAL! Now it's YOUR chance!

You can click on the following link to see all the nifty features: http://www.amazon.com/JVC-GRDVM76U-Compact-Digital-Camcorder/dp/B0000669B5.

There's one BIG change between the Amazon description and my camcorder: instead of the 8 MB memory card they talk about in the description, I've upped it to a full *2 GB*! You can record a LOT of video and stills to a memory card with that much capacity!

One cool feature of the GR-DVM76U is that you can rotate the LCD screen 180 degrees to see yourself as you film, and the image on the LCD screen flips as well! You'll appear right-side-up on the LCD screen! That's what you see in the 2nd photo - the screen is flipped, but the image is right-side-up!

The 3rd photo shows the Output & Power jacks. The SD card slot is in the front, under the lens.

You'll need to buy a battery charger and a new battery, but you can find those on Amazon for $20! You'll also want a digital cable as well to download the photos and vids to your computer! I'll throw in the first MiniDV cassette so you can start filming immediately!

You should be able to get a manual from the JVC website. You don't really need it; the controls are very intuitive!

You don't want to let this one get away!

S/H: USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Medium Box ($10.70). I recommend insurance as well ($2.25 for $100 or $2.75 for $200 - those are USPS rates, not something I'm making up). I prefer Paypal (it's FASTER & MORE SECURE), but I'll take USPS money orders as well. No other payment methods accepted.

If this hits 7,500 - and I would be VERY surprised if it didn't - then shipping is free.

It's been stuck at 4040 for quite awhile! Maybe we'll see a last-minute burst of bids - I hope so, as this camcorder is worth MUCH more than the current bid!

Thank you very much for your response sir. I was refering to this part of the description, but thank you for clearing things up.

"There's one BIG change between the Amazon description and my camcorder: instead of the 8 MB memory card they talk about in the description, I've upped it to a full *2 GB*! You can record a LOT of video and stills to a memory card with that much capacity!"

That's my error. That should have been STILLS ONLY. I think my mind was on another camcorder I was listed on eBay at the same time. That one allowed video to the card or MiniDV.

Thanks for raising the issue so that, hopefully, it's cleared up!

So you can't store video on the sd card like it says in the description? What do you do with miniDV tapes?
Jun 22nd, 2010 at 12:14:43 PM PDT by
Original
The description says, "Pics to the SD card, video to the MiniDV tapes". Again, when it came out in 2002, card capacity was in the 8-16 MB range, not the 2-4 GB range we have now. Once you shoot video, you can download it to your computer via a mini-USB cable, an S-Video cable, or a DV cable. These output jacks are under a small cover (see 3rd photo; it's that little square at the bottom left, in front of the battery). They call that the "Jack Box"!

so this doesnt come with the battery or the charger?

It has a battery, but you might want a spare. You can get a new battery & charger on Amazon for about $20. Not a bad price when one considers the value of the camcorder!

The model was introduced in 2002. Still, it's fully functional and shows little sign of wear. The previous owner took good care of this one!

is there anything wrong with it or does everything work? I've never used this kind, are all the pictures stored on a flash drive or what?
Jun 18th, 2010 at 8:03:41 PM PDT by

To the best of my knowledge, everything works. Still photos can be stored on an SD card, but video is stored on MiniDV tapes.

You can get the manual off the JVC website (http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/00/98/LYT0973-001B.pdf).
