Description

The listing, Pink Moonflower- 3rd generation- 40+ seeds has ended.

These are third generation seeds. I have been playing with direct pollination in an effort to brighten the pink color, but I won't know the result until this year's plants bloom.
I list 40 seeds but always send enough to insure the germination of 40 plants.

F & W - Please let me say, first off, that these are beautiful! but I am a little confused. The photo looks like what I call Angels Trumpet but I have never seen seed pods on them before. I have some of the Devils Trumpet (Datura) and they do get spiny seed pods on them, the flowers point up not down. I thought moon flowers were like morning glory s and on a vine. Help me understand, please. thanks

I think folks have different takes on what is actually a moonflower. I refer to both daturas AND brugmansias as moonflowers. I also call daturas "devils trumpets". This particular flower blooms at night, but does not completely close at daytime.
I, too, would like a more definitive idea of what is a TRUE moonflower...... right now the spectrum is so broad that it is confusing to several folks including me.

Moonflowers definitely do not grow on a vine...they are on a plant. Mine do point upwards

I copied this from Wikipedia...it might help clear up some confusion. "Brugmansia is a genus of seven species of flowering plants in the family Solanaceae native to tropical South America. Their large, fragrant flowers give them their common name of Angel's Trumpets, a name sometimes used for the closely related genus Datura. Brugmansia are woody trees or bushes, with pendulous, not erect, flowers, that have no spines on their fruit. Datura species are herbaceous bushes with erect (not pendulous) flowers, and most have spines on their fruit" Doesn't make me any difference I still want them!
