Description

The listing, 1880's Old Letter & Covers has ended.

An 1872 letter with the envelope it came in plus 1888 old cover and stamp on it, comes in a plastic sleeve which the previous owner tried to sell it for $10.00.

The next one is an old cover (envelope) but this one is interesting because it was "registered" dated 1895 as was selling for $9.50. I do not recognize the purple mark on the backside. This one will also be sent with the clear plastic sleeve. The backside also have the Registered Mail stamp in red, it's faint but
shows the date Aug. 8, 1895, looks like from a station in New York.

An 1895 cover, I love the handwriting back then! Also, there is an 1899 letter which is similar to the one I sent as it is mounted on the backside of the old blacok and white advertisement. Front side has the letter, backside has the second part of the letter plus the cover it was mailed in. Interesting how back then, no house number or zip code!

I also took photos of the BARCO advertisement sheet that it is mounted on just because I like to have the bidders aware of all aspects of the items. The BARCO lady looks really happy talking on the phone and man oh man, what a skinny waistline! LOLOL... So, the advertisement itself is actually another piece of history.

an old cover, mounted, but I found it interesting how someone took the time to type up all the information regarding the Town, County and State plus how it had a name change from "South Coventry" to "Coventry", dated 1908. The cover is that
nice old Postal Stationary, 2 cent Washington. "Postal Stationary" is an envelope that you buy, with the postage already printed on the envelope. You'll see that this cover is mounted on a sheet that was produced by Minkus
Publications, which is or used to be a company that sells stamp album pages.
