Description
The listing, *** TURQUOISE ROCKS *** has ended.
These were actually mined by me from an old turquoise mine near the Colorado River. We would dune buggy back into the hills to a closed mine with axes and chop chunks of turquoise from the walls. I now want to share some of them with my listia friends!
Stone #1 is approx. 31/2" L x 11/2 W. Stone #2 is approx. 21/4" L x 11/2" D. Stone #3 is approx. 21/2" L x 2" D
Thank you for looking and or bidding.
Questions & Comments
I love rough stones so much. Can you give an estimate of size?
It was really fun. I have not been there in years. It is more then likely closed to where the public cannot get to it anymore because it was very dangerous. But we were young and daring! Ha-ha.
Where do you live. I have several that I have not listed because of the weight and the shipping cost of them. I'm having a yard sale int he next few months whenever my neighbors get their stuff together so if your anywhere in CA, let me know! :o)
Hmm...you live near Bakersfield area...Kern County? Also, have you been to Moonstone Beach at Cambria? Beach is covered with small, polished Moonstones, Jade, and other amazing stones:) And if you come visit, I could take you to another beach nearby where I chip out Calcite crystals (not perfect-just veins and pieces.) But don't tell:)
Cool! Are dogs allowed on that beach? My little girl goes everywhere with me, (the one in my picture) but she is really an angel, not a dog anyway! Ha-ha! :o)
Umm...I don't know if it is breaking the law or not at San Simeon, but somehow I always tend not to worry about that, and dogs rule the beach:) I don't bring mine because they hate water (pathetic...Border Collie, and beloved Pitt-both rescues.)
