My dad bought these coins on eBay and got screwed. He took them to get graded, but ANAC could not guarantee that they were 100% authentic. My dad was going to melt them down for the silver content, but I offered to take them off his hands and offer the rounds to someone that cannot afford the real coin and can really appreciate these forms of artwork.
ANACS used a Handheld XRF Spectrometry (https://www.bruker.com/products/x-ray-diffraction-and-elemental-analysis/handheld-xrf.html) and since they don't grade counterfeit coins they inspect the coins prior to grading. They return these coins stating they could not and would not 100% verify the authenticity of these coins.
ANACS also stated, that the weight is correct, the diameter is correct, the composition is correct to a genuine U. S. Mint Silver Half-Dollar.
Again, I can and will GUARANTEE you that this round contains 90% silver and 10% copper. This is the exact round you will receive.
FACTS:
China began making copies of this coin to sell (it's considered a form of art work in their country), and unfortunately these counterfeits made it back to the US. Some of these counterfeit Silver Half-Dollars fooled the experts, and many used to be sold on eBay until collectors became informed.
