As per requests on the "value" ... common SPs were listed at $15, but no "specific" SP pricing was available except for the Pujols Angels player card. I am finding that this variation is moving pretty well in the $25-$40 range.
The Jeter is also moving in the $25-$40 range. They're about the same. I have the Michael Morse, lists at $15 ... but honestly, it's more like $8-$15. I had a Rally Squirrel in my second pack, but I traded it for a PSA slabbed 1951 Topps Red Back Ralph Kiner, signed by Kiner. AnD yeah ... I'D MAKE THAT TRADE ALL DAY!
My thoughts exactly. The bottom will fall out of the Squirrel, like the "top tier" SP has for every year of Topps (remember the Jeter with Bush in the background? lol) ... same will happen with the other SP Pujols. The one you have here is the safe investment. This one trades over $25, and in 5 years it still will. The other Pujols SP trades at $150, and in 5 years, will be trading at $25, lol.
No, lol, not THAT well, but still way up there for sure. Topps only issues RCs now for players who (at least reportedly) will see some major league time during the season. They were informed that Gordon wouldn't be called up, even in desoeration, so everything was yanked. The cutout was done as a means of destroying the card, and none were supposed to be put into the packs. Yeah, they were WAY up there at first, but they still trade at $500-$1K .. and that could actually go back up, because he's finally starting to meet expectations.
I knew when I had it,it was going straight to the bay and Im glad I did picked up some decent rcs and good money,I havent had a card that close in ages price wise
Best card I ever pulled was from 2000 Pacific Hockey. It was a film negative of Brendan Shanahan. Nobody had seen one, and we contacted Pacific and found that it had been inserted into the packs as a mistake, so it was not just a true 1/1, but one of a superstar player that was never intended for release. I did some REALLY NICE Christmas shopping for my whole family out of that card. The beauty of it? I was managing a store at the time, and the vendor had given me 3 packs of the cards (as he usually did) trying to convince me to put the product in my store. So, it was a complete freebie, to boot!
