monadb1: as far as i know, there is no auto bid. from what i can tell, istia is set up so that you bid the max amount YOU'RE WILLING TO SPEND. unfortunately, that means if the very first bidder bid 1,000 credits, you can bid 50 times, but you'll never get ahead until you bid 1,001. and as you get within hours of the closing auction time, every bid made drives the credits up say, 100 more, instead of 1 or 2 like you were seeing early on. on the bright side, you get XP every time you bid. ;) and what you end up paying is often less than your high bid, especially if a lot of people don't bid right towards the end. :D
