The listing, 1892 Columbian Expo 90% Silver Commemorative Half Dollar has ended.
Ok, Folks, as promised. Here is an 1892 Columbian Expo Commemorative 90% Silver Half Dollar. This is the very first commemoration coin ever minted by the United States Mint. It was sold at the Worlds fair in Chicago for one dollar and did not do very well with sales. Many, many of these coins were melted down because of the poor sales and many were spent in the market place mostly because people were not familiar with a commemorative coin and it's purpose. There are many out there but not so with coins in very good condition, which is what you have here. This coin in AU-BU condition is a great find and as you can see by the pictures they are beautiful. Not a scratch or wear spot anywhere. In fact the lines on the earth globes on reverse are perfect. I will list the 1893 that goes along with it in an hour or so and am setting a Gin so if you win one and want the other you can do that witout bidding. You may think the gin to be high but I based it on getting 12,000 credits for a 1964 Kennedy Half in AU condition and these coins are worth far more to the collector. Happy bidding and I will bring you a Peace Dollar next in BU condition if you show me you are willing to make a fare bid for a great coin in this auction. You did it with the Kennedy so s promised here is the next coin.
